Chicas Latinas de Sacramento collects 500+ new shoe donations for the students at Glenwood Elementary – Shoes to be distributed at 5th Annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” Event
Sacramento, Calif., (Oct. 2019) – Chicas Latinas de Sacramento’s 5th Annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” shoe-drive will conclude with an exciting distribution day event on Tuesday, October 22 at Glenwood Elementary School, where EVERY student will be able to pick out a NEW pair of shoes for the 2019-20 school year.
Glenwood Elementary School was selected as the local nonprofit’s, Chicas Latinas de Sacramento, 2019 sponsored school – where over 60% of the students identify as hispanic/Latino and 93% of the entire student-body are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged. Chicas Latinas’ 5th Annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” distribution event will be held on the blacktop (to the right) of Glenwood Elementary, located in North Sacramento. Chicas Latinas members, community volunteers and schools officials will be in attendance to organize and present the new shoe donations and help each student try-on and select a new pair of shoes – to ensure that EVERY child at Glenwood Elementary starts his or her 2019-20 education year off on the right foot!

Every year Chicas Latinas de Sacramento selects an underserved elementary school in Sacramento County as it’s shoe-drive recipient and collects new shoes for the students, with a goal of providing every child with a new pair of shoes to start the new school year with.
